The difference in the total corner, if they started at the straight, and they did not, because of the stagger, would be 11m, (5th lane vs 8th lane.) Becuz of the stagger, 2nd leg starts higher in the corner. SA did not have a good hand off. Diff is 4m on the corner for 5 vs 8. Cutover is in the stagger; b/t 5 and 8 adds 1m to lane 8. . SA smoked everyone in the 1st 200m. Got caught/beat by Jamaica and Bershawn caught up too. In all SA beat Bershawn by 5m. Doesn't matter. USA still won.

@quadbravo they didn't start even. Jackson was 3 lanes inside - way ahead. At the second exchange, he was behind.. Jackson got smoked.

@kozmon0t they finished even. a quick first 200 for the S. African for sure but there was no "whoopin" going on. you gotta get it to line.

@F6SuperTornado08 no it wasnt jackson just was tired from all the hurdle rounds there third last was a hurdler to but he is the 9th fastest all time with a 44.05 in the flat but rather runs the hurdle

Damn, usually the USA would destroy everybody in the 4x4. putting a hurdler on the relay team was clearly a mistake...

@sweetjemise Actually Bolt can run the 400m if he chose to. As a teenager, his times in the 200m and 400m were so impressive that many people predicted that he would be the successor to Michael Johnson. While Bolt did comment recently that he prefers running the sprints because training for the 400m is so onerous, he has never straight out said he would not or could not run the 400m.
