@telamon2011 Its ridiculous..the Oscars I mean..llike comparing a banana with an apple..both are fruits but totally different....so to say one actor is better than the other is silly. IF they all did the same part..then youd have a reasonable debate...but as it is. the Oscars are a popularity contest.

While the movie was certainly quite good, and no one has to sell me on Bette Davis, The Miracle Worker was incredibly poignant, and Ann Bancroft was exceptional.

I would think that anyone with half a brain would quickly realize that Bette Davis is lip synching to Joan Crawford's actual speaking voice and not doing a vocal impersonation ~ I think they both deserved oscar nominations for this movie but that year all the awards went to The Miracle Worker....Bette lost out to Ann Bancroft.
