Supercollider/The Butcher single -- Record Store Day 2011

Lyrics:
Supercollider
Dust in a moment
Particles scatter
Coming up from the soup

Swimming upstream
Before the heavens crack open
Thin pixelation
Coming up from the dust

In a blue light
In a green light
In a half life
In an arc light

I'm a bass bin
Flip-flopping
I'm a pulse wave
Hot-stepping

I put the shadows back into
The boxes

I am open
I am welcome
For a fraction
Of a second

I have jettisoned my illusions
I have dislodged my depression

I put the shadows back into
The boxes
I put the shadows back into
The boxes

I see an angel hanging over the balcony
I see the angels hanging over the balcony

  • 1:32 doesnt he say green light? Not half light.

  • @antisadism Fixed.

  • Were these supposed to be on The King Of Limbs?

  • @ginad17 "‘The Butcher’ was recorded and mixed during ‘The King of Limbs’ sessions, but we couldn’t make it work on the album; ‘Supercollider’ was started during those sessions and finished off in March of this year."

  • @forgeryproof +10 for the anesthetize - porcupine tree

  • @rmxjoint Well technically Supercollider is a single, and The Butcher is a B-side, considering they were released on a "single" EP, and The Butcher is found on the side labeled "B". Don't ask me how I figured that one out though, I'm just an ignorant, dumbass Radiohead fan.

  • What a great minds!!!

  • that sound, ..AAAAHHHHHHH! -Brilliant!-

  • @ZeniBass I hope you're not getting flamed for mentioning Muse. They are very talented, but they're heading for the mainstream right now, which pains me a lot. And even though they can't be put on the same level as Radiohead or Tool for example, especially some of their old stuff (Origin of Symmetry, Absolution) is gold.

I hate it when people condemn a whole band without having a look at their stuff.

  • @forgeryproof Indeed there are some great longer-than-4-min-not-radio-friendly songs. To name a few, the Package, by APC. Entire Fear of a Blank Planet album by Porcupine Trees. And I know I'll get flamed by this: Citizen Erased, Knights of Cydonia by Muse.

  • Love the cascade of sound and the way his voice flows and stretches to bring us to each particular portion of imagery. It has a sound that implies technological traveling or achievement. Motion. Flow towards some unknown place or revelation.

  • Thanks for posting. Brilliant!
