The controversy with Lily Allen is that her outspoken stance and blog about the evils of downloading copyrighted music is at odds with the fact that she made 2 mix tapes using dozens of song clips from other artists without permission. These mix tapes are what catapulted her to fame.

I'm not saying Lily Allen is a bad musician nor am I condemning her for having her big break come from these mix-tapes. I'm simply scolding her for being a brat and a hypocrite for her outspoken stance she took towards file sharing once she blew up. If you don't know what I'm talking about you're not much of a Lily Allen fan. There was a huge contreversy over it and she took a lot of flak. It's the reason she quit.

@SpecialFester Seriously? Mixtapes are free, she wasn't making a profit off of anything in her two mixtapes. They were released to get her name out there; but they weren't sold. It's completely different from downloading music illegally.

Yes, thats because Lily is a hypocrite... little integrity, large mouth. I'm sorry she's had such bad luck as of late but I'm glad she's not in my fucking face. I did like her first album though. This mixtape was a vapid but refreshing listen!

@Abe4489 The notes that start playing around 6:42 are from "Smile" and that's the song that continues to play for the rest of the song. ..that's seriously Lily Allen's most well known song though so I'm not sure if that's what you're talking about?

and she didn't quit coz of it, she quit because she wants to have a baby (which she is doing) and to do work in the amazon and to open her vintage clothing store (lucy in disguise)
