My uncle shooting his second MT mule deer buck. We kicked up this buck in a sheltered coulee less then a hundred yards from us but he was out of range before we could get the camera rolling and get a good shot off. We figured out where he was headed and cut across the prairie tops ahead of him twice before we got a good shot. The second time we saw him he was unaware of our presence though he was slightly alarmed and when he passed so close to us my uncle was a bit behind me in relation to the buck and would have blown my ears out with the shot. Besides he never presented a good shot. But the third time was a charm and we were able to get ahead of him again and when he went to cross the ridge in front of us, Manny dropped him. Yet another memory stored away with friends and family

  • Nice shot! How far was the shot and what brand and weight was the bullet?

  • @nmelkhunter1 250 Yards. Not sure on bullet but I think 165 grain ballistic tipped Winchester Supreme

  • @ramdslpwr What brand of gun was that I am looking to buy a .270 WSM and need some types.

  • @wrestlerstatechamp2 Sorry mymrrandomguy, it's a browning.. not sure which model

  • @ramdslpwr Alright thanks and what type of scope did you have on it Im think between a Leupold and Nikon both are good just dont know which to choose.

  • @wrestlerstatechamp2 Either one is good. I have a Nikon on my rifle, my brother has a Leupold.. If you want to go real quality go Leica or Swarovski.

  • My god that second deer would have been dead within the first 3 seconds. You my friend was taking to long and you don't need a huge-ass magnum to shoot a deer that far, I shot my first elk with 6mm Remington 100 gr. Core-lokt at 407 yards. It was an off hand shot and the 6x6 bull dropped. What I am saying is you don't need a huge gun for deer. My sister hunts with a .22-250 and has shot 3 elk and quite a bit of deer with it. Now I hunt with a 25-06 Remington. Other than that was a great shot.

  • @ramdslpwr Alright I did hear and like you said that Swarovski scopes are really good I have a friend that has one and he loves it. Thank you sir that was really helpful.

  • That was a great shot.

  • @wrestlerstatechamp2 winchester

  • i've shot 5 deer and a black bear with my 270 wsm and none even flinched after the shot. The bear i shot was dead before it hit the ground with 130gr ballistic tips

  • Great shot!!!
