My mom used to have George Olliver's skinny white tie from when he threw it in the crowd. Sadly, we don't have it anymore, but I still have her two "Member Of The Soul Crusade" buttons and the two KR 45's. I think she saw them at The Cheetah in Santa Monica.
i think it's '67 or '68 - Club 888 - Yonge St. - Masonic Temple - the headliner is Wilson Pickett - yah - mustang sally , 99 1/2 and more - we're sitting on the floor about midway from the stage and the warm-up band is introduced - Mandela - in their red /white wide stripe suits - and whoah !! they blew us and Wilson away - he was no match for our guys - too bad they only gained local recognition - they could have gone all the way .......i'll always remember that night ....
