This is part 12 of one of the last interviews John Lennon ever gave to the media. This was recorded in the studio at The Hit Factory on 12/6/1980 and conducted by Andy Peebles for BBC Radio.

  • Correct me if I remember it wrong, but after completing the interviews during which Andy Peebles really got to know JL on a very personal level he flew back to UK to do his morning show the next day... and had to be the one to break the news to the country that JL was shot. I don't know how he kept it together...

  • I actually think this may be true. I do know that the news was broken VERY soon after he returned to England. LIke within hours. The same happened to the RKO team who interviewed John on the day of his death. They were completely unaware of his death since after they left they returned directly to California. When they got on the plane, John was in the studio and when they got to the airport in California he was dead and in the morgue. How eery.

  • Neil FYI on Pt 12 at 1:02 it states this interview took place at the Hit Factory not the Record Plant.

Thanks again for all these great clips

  • Yeah, I know. I get those two mixed up all the time. I was going to go back and change the descriptions soon.
