Buster eats hornworms

Here is Buster, my common snapping turtle eating some hornworms. Unfortunately I will not be able to hand feed him for much longer, he is getting to the point where the hand that feeds him is looking more tasty than the food being offered. You will see this in the video, or at least me reacting to it, to prevent a strike at my fingers. Its important to point out that Buster is NOT being mean, its a case I think of him wondering why he is getting stuck with a "french fry" when "there is a whole steak" just behind it. His temperament when being handled or when there is no food is good as usual, Buster is a very easy snapping turtle to work with and hold.

so wait u talk about handling him in the descrip. how do u handle him? what do u do with him when u do? im guessing hes pretty 'tame' if u can play around with him

@AskJoe1 The only thing I can really say is never hold a snapping turtle by the tail. Other than that I just handled him a lot when he was a baby and he allows me to handle him when ever I need too, he will kick and scratch like all turtles do but he does not bite.
