This was written in the summer of 2010 - my second piece after writing '...leave all behind'. Some of the patterns which stand out within the composition reminded me (and are probably a direct influence) of church bells. 'Call-changes' is a style of bell ringing which featured in a book I was reading at the time - 'Ask the fellows who cut the hay' - a look at pre-mechanism rural Suffolk by oral historian George Ewart Evans.

The piece closes with the introduction of a string ensemble.

The images are from my cycle rides out of London and into some much needed Kent countryside.
