  • I want to grow a horse chestnut from seed but im not sure of its worthiness of bonsai do you think it is good as a bonsai because of the size of the leaves

  • Hi, I would imaginme it would make a fine bonsai. The leaf size can be easily controlled by pruning off large leaves and growing it in a container. Give it a try. Check out my vieo about leaf size (Big Leaf, Little leaf- I think). Jerry

  • Hi! I would like to know how's your kabuki pine doing. I just recently got my hands into some sphagnum moss. have you ever worked with sweetgum trees? i'm asking because that's one of my targets for the sphagnum moss method. Thanks!

  • It died. The root structure was not sufficient to handle the transfer to sphagum moss. Never workled with seetgum trees, but it should work finr in the sphagnum moss if the specimen is mature enough and the transfer is not too traumatic.

  • could U tell me if I can use copper wire ( user fo windings in transformers or motors) fo wiring bonsai trees??

  • You probably should not use it because of its hardness. better to get wire from a bonsai nursery that has been annealed, which softens the wire and makes it easier to handle.

You can get by mail order from Wigert's Bonsai Nursery. Wigert's Mango Grove & Bonsai Nursery •2930 South Rd, North Ft Myers, FL 33917 • (239) -543-2234. Ask for Erik or Andrea and mention that I sent you.
