  • June 1980. The best day of my life. First date with the prettiest girl I've ever known. Rasberries Night Club in tiny Angels Camp Ca. Maybe 50 people in attendance. He sang this song while we sat and set our drinks literally at his feet. He looked me right in the eye as he sang this song. The girl virtually ripped my clothes off after the concert. Thank you David Bromberg.

  • I first saw Bromberg @ the Gutherie in Minneapolis in 72'. He played a four hour concert and when the fire marshall shut down the theatre because it was 1 AM, we went to a guitar store and he played along with other axmen and fiddliers till about 4 AM. Needless to say the sweetness in the air was the elixir of life!

  • This is how I remember Dave from the Gaslight days! Great then and plays great now...

  • I learned this from Erik Frandsen who taught it to David...

  • I saw him in Minneapolis - mid 70's, small venue, but cannot recall exactly where. Does anyone remember?

  • David Bromberg is absolutely one of the best to see and hear. Caught him a few times - all outside of Philly.

  • Thst the best comment I've ever read on YouTube. What a sublime memory.

  • I first heard the Allman Bros Band do this tune and loved it, but when this version came out in about '74 I absolutely thought this one killed! It still rules to this day. Bromberg was and still is one of the best performers I've ever had the pleasure of seeing live, a fantastic player and true genius.

  • Somewhere in my house is a copy of this. Thanks for the post, I forgot how great David was.

  • I luv this song thx for the post
