Hi, this is a good idea. My comments.
1) Make sure you get ultra-flat black paint. Black card = NO SHINE!
2) Your spray paint technique is no good. Make sure to do slow even strokes in one direction so the paint dries flat. This is important for metalics
3) Be careful with the final tape job, or your whole project will just look unprofessional and make you look REALLY CHEAP.

Thanks for sharing.

I got a chance last weekend to play around with the reflector in an actual photo shoot and I'm thoroughly impressed. Top quality construction. Zippers work great, metal framing is VERY strong, reflective material works extremely well and you can tell it's good quality. The only con I have really is that the reflector material is kind of tacky (as in sticky), so if you were to brush against it the wrong way it could tear. Otherwise I absolutely love it. Best $17 I've spent in a while.

@DigitalPhotographyD Yep. Mine was shipped out today.. should get it mid-next week. I'll let you know how it is.
Good tip, but you can buy a 43-inch collapsible reflector (that does a much better job of reflecting than spray paint) on Amazon for $17. Search for item# B002ZIMEMW
Not only do you get silver, gold, black, and white.. but you also get translucent .. to diffuse light.
Again, I always appreciate DIY photography tips.. but you end up spending more for less with using your tip.
