We've ( http://cas.umkc.edu/physics/sps/news.... ) burned steel wool and made fire pistons. It was only a matter time before we would try to see if we could ignite steel wool in the fire piston. We can. This video was taken at 1,000 fps. There's also a regular speed video of this.
