  • Sugar Ray Robinson best fighter to ever live. Best fighter to ever live.

  • What people don't realise here is that Ray Robinson is 38 years old in this fight alone! (See video clip above), and Carmen Basillo was 28 years old (and World Middle Weight Champion). Can you imagine how fast he was (Ray Robinson) at the age of 28 years old himself?

Can you imagine a 28 years old Ray Robinson transported into our times - to use all the latest sport training facilites, available and then fight those guys mentioned by Lemonite1

  • Basilio is an underated champion. He would be hell for any welter in any era. Great heart.

  • @Rasclot222 Jack Johnson is the best fighter to ever live. Ali and Frazier said he is one of them or tied with Joe Louis.

  • @sweetassugar69 I am English. I have no doubt in my mind it would be close, probably even. Yeah, i see what your saying with the Foreman comment, you have to remember Foreman is nowhere near the boxing punching machine of Robinson. Thanks Brother!

  • @gangst1978 i know your english because you say fella lol so am i i just don't know what the result would be on skill levels there comaparable maybe with not longevity and fight records and leonard could take you out as well ! foreman had a harder punch than ali but looked what happened when they fought ! if they boxed 5 times i have no idea who would win but i think it would be a lot closer than you think it would be !! respect

  • @sweetassugar69 Another point, Robinson is to us an unknown quantity at Welter, we only see him fighting at Middle, the Welter Robinson, is voted the greatest welter of all time, shame we will never see it, so how can you say Leonard will beat him, when you havent seen him fight at Welter, he beat Gavilan twice in great fights. Leonard is great though, one of my favs, so i dont even know why im debating his skills, when clearly he is one of the top 20 fighters of all time, robinson no1.

  • @sweetassugar69 @sweetassugar69 No need to get upset Fella, the fact is its one Mans opinion against another, no one knows who will win between them, its impossible, both of them could win on their day, are you going to tell me if Leonard fought Robinson 5 times he would win all 5 fights? dont respond if your going to be gobby. And hitting harder means a great deal at world class level, the big equalizer punch has helped many a fighter, this is what Robinson had,

  • @gangst1978 what the fuck are you talking about better chin leonard never got floored as a welterweight so to say that is bollocks no he is not as fast as leonard not as quick on his feet and maybe he just hit harder but that means nothing and i would expect a better comment from a boxer !i would say hearns hit harder than robinson and leonard took those easy ! stamina well sorry to upset the apple cart but leonard more than matched him for stamina ie duran1 hearns and benitez is proof of that!

  • The fact is Robinson was so aggressive, look at his amatuer record, he had everything Leonard had but hit harder and had a better chin, now how is Leonard going to beat this man, who is taller, just as skilled and as fast, has untold energy and heart, i just dont see Leonard being able to handle a man who later had the sized to move up to MIddle and dominate threre, Robinson too rough and tough, would be a great fight at welter! have you seen bright lights dark shadows of a champion?

  • @sweetassugar69 What we are seeing here and in many other tapes of Robinson, is a man well over the hill, he had 100 fights at Welterweight before he moved up to Middle, you cannot judge this man on what we see in these Middleweight fights , the fact is he was still beating them and he was past it. Robinson is probably the greatest Welter that lived, some would say the greatest middle too, we of course dont have the luxury of seeing him at Welter but he was dynamite and hit harder than Leonard.
