http://www.EugenieAbsalom.com Artist Lucy Freud, the third child of two well-known artists Lucian Freud and Katherine McAdam and the great grand-daughter of Sigmund Freud the Psychoanalyst, is reflecting on her artistic roots and the art gene in the family. Lucy is shown at the Artichoke printmaking studio, working on her monoprint from Cambodia series.

  • An artist has only two choices, his family or his art...you can't have both sadly. we benefit from his art but his family are crushed...it's a dilemma, what would you do?

  • Being a mother ~ I can well understand the sentiment of this woman, having grown up with a father like Lucian Freud. But ~ no-one please ever diminish the utmost, expressive talent of this man, whatever ruins he might have left behind in regard to his family, or children. He was a remarkable man. He was a remarkable artist. Let this stand on it's own. Children always deal with their parent's past, whatever it is! Mine do too. Guess they have to go through it ~ whatever ...
