An artist has only two choices, his family or his art...you can't have both sadly. we benefit from his art but his family are crushed...it's a dilemma, what would you do?

Being a mother ~ I can well understand the sentiment of this woman, having grown up with a father like Lucian Freud. But ~ no-one please ever diminish the utmost, expressive talent of this man, whatever ruins he might have left behind in regard to his family, or children. He was a remarkable man. He was a remarkable artist. Let this stand on it's own. Children always deal with their parent's past, whatever it is! Mine do too. Guess they have to go through it ~ whatever ...
