Some pictures that I took of Pro Stockers back in the '70s and '80s along with a clip from the Diamond P video "Decade Of Thrills" Note... the last photo, at 6:43, before the video clip is one that I took from the grandstands at the '83 US Nationals showing Lee Shepherd in the lead at that point. But as the video shows, Bob Glidden drove around him to take the title. Great Racin'!!

  • @ellroyblues72 agreed!!! Bob Glidden is DA MAN when it comes to Pro Stock Racing.

  • great vid, thanks.

  • absoutely awesome. good old days how it should be. great pics. thankyou!

  • Bob Glidden is THE king of Pro Stock.

  • Only in the USA could the Muscle car be born. We use to say things like they will never stop making the muscle cars. Well they did stop the production but the muscle car never died. They are here today, I have a 68 RR 542ci 900hp 4linked 1/8 mile ride. A 71 100% rust free Challenger Im planning to Hemi cloan.

  • Nova man thanks for your pic, I love to reminisce on the old days. My brother and I had a ss/c hemi dodge and we were always referred to by the locals as the Hemi boys. I absolutely was thrilled with every muscle car from those days. We had a small speed shop on broadway of our town.. We would be working on our hotrod at night getting ready for the week end and someone would pass by with a new muscle car just purchased. Often that person wopuld come in and show off their new ride.

  • @HEMIBOYS Yeah, the other thing I didn't like was allowing the Lenco clutchless transmissions.

  • @TheNovaMan HEY MAN GREAT STUFF, BUT THE REAL DRAGRACING DIED WHEN NHRA STARTED MAKING RULES TO EVEN UP THE COMPETITION. OUTLAWING THE HEMI TO NOT EVEN COMPETE IN PRO STOCK SHOT THEMSELVES IN THE HEAD. HAVE YOU SEAN THE EMPTY STANDS TODAY.

  • Thanx for the memories.. I used to watch a lot of racing in the 70's and 80's at SIR.. Seattle International Raceway's... love the pro stock class the best.. back then they all looked different... real people ... not big business... ;)))
