So on our second day of riding we were joined by two more riders and decided to venture out up Hwy 154. Right before you get to the 101 again there is Zaca Station Rd. Zaca Station Rd eventually turns into Foxen Canyon Rd. This road winds us through some incredible wine country, and it was a great ride. You can tell that the area gets a lot of moisture because the oaks had moss hanging from them, a very unusual effect. Having never been on this road it was well worth the journey, and one that led us past many roads that we have to go back and ride another day no doubt !! Foxen Canyon eventually winds you back and around to the 101 just under where the 166 crosses it in Santa Maria. We had a great lunch there in Santa Maria. Taking a road that starts out with a sign saying next 12 miles are winding is a good start for me! :)
