It really makes me angry when people find out about my visual impairment, and think think that they have to talk to the person whom I'm with - rather than talking directly to me. I'm visually impaired - I'm not stupid. If you have a physical challenge - have you had this problem, and how does it make you feel? Leave a comment. Video responses are also welcomed. If you haven't done so - please subscribe to my channel.

  • I have had similar experiences, too. One person thought my friend was my mother. Eh, the woman is 10 years older than I. I'm visually impaired although I can see regular print. It doesn't happen too often. Sometimes, I think people are intimidated and are prone to irrational thoughts.

  • @Barryb64 I will agree that it is a lack of public knowledge and awareness on the part of the general public. But it can sure make us (the visually impaired community) feel bad. Thanks for your comment and for watching.

  • I am not blind but I do know how people act when interacting with a blind person. It is irritating! Great work VideoGuy NC

  • @lorilai76 Thank you very much for watching my video, and thank you for the kind words. It is refreshing to find people who understand. It's sad that so many people just jump to conclusions about people, and don't take the time to get an understanding of the individual's abilities. For example, I've had SO many people tell me that they are shocked at my technical knowledge because of my visual impairment.

  • I'm visually impaired myself and have the same issue to a certain extent, i.e. it doesn't happen all the time, but I do get annoyed by it

  • @FlamingTorch9 Thanks for watching my video. I don't get so frustrated at the people's actions. It's the lack of knowledge that so many seem to have. If people would better educate themselves (even those without impairments) the world could be a more productive place. Best of luck to you.
