Mission Animation of the 2nd Young Engineers' Satellite, built by 400 students with Delta-Utec for ESA, about the deployment of a 30 km wire in space from the Foton satellite, in order to send a small capsule, Fotino, back from space to land softly on Earth. Launch September 2007.

  • Landing precision -if it survives entry-, based on 10.000 Monte Carlo simulations using error models for all phases of deployment and re-entry, is about 200 km alongtrack and 30 perpendicular to groundtrack, with a probability of 99.7%

  • By the way, how precise is the landing going to be? Any CEP estimates?
