@KierenMan That was a cyber peace process which has, incidently, been heavily edited to make sound more sinister. In the full message he was concerned that the american people were losing their democracy from within. He also left hundreds of notes pointing out the lack of passwords and security that pervaded their systems.

Gary hacked into a computer that dealt with the "Parks and Cemetry" administration in Washington. and may have disrupted the efficient running of these important landmarks. This was VERY serious! especially the Cemetry disruption. The Computer Trade Press have disclosed what actual damage Gary McKinnon caused. He did NOT disrupt operational work in secure military installations, as he only was able to hack null-password Web Sites.
