State Senator Darrel Aubertine caught in another whopper

NYS Senator Darrel Aubertine was caught in another whopper on Monday, June 23, 2008, as he claimed he turned down a six-figure job running one of the nation's biggest utilities. Only problem, the Governor says the job was never offered.

From the video transcript:

Gov. David Paterson: "I didn't offer Senator Aubertine a job running the Power Authority, and I don't believe anyone in my office did. That his interpretation. I just don't understand...

"I haven't actually seen Darrel in the month of June or the month of May. I haven't seen him in a long time. I haven't seen him. I haven't talked to him on the phone. I haven't looked at his picture. I haven't had a visit from his family. I've not been near his office. I haven't read a letter from him. I haven't written a letter from him. I haven't (had) any contact with Mr. Aubertine in a month and a half. And I didn't email him.
