  • @familytreemusic That's the problem with you muslims. You can't decide amongst yourselves whether listening to music is sinful or not. Just read all these posts and u will understand what I mean.

  • @familytreemusic Salam, brother, I had also once an inclination with music. But, now that I have heard the Prophet's (saw) position about it, I had to stop it. But, note that what is prohibited is the use of musical instruments, it did not prohibit the Muslims from using our voice. Tha Athan for example. There are nasheeds out there praising and remembering Allah (swt) w/o the use of musical instruments, which to me better than any other western songs or classical songs. Peace!

  • @SentientRaven

in fact, Allah don't take it from people, He invite us to moderation in all affairs

music that invites to or promote illicit behaviours is not good

music that remind us of the wonders of creation, pure love, elevationand all positive feelings why on earth should be bad. Allah will tell us in due time. peace.

  • @BGfromGB

islam don't say who's in hellfire and who not

    Allah alone will judge

as a practicing muslim who's also a professional musician

(and there's many of us, trust me)

i, for one, wouldn't mind if bach was my neighbour in paradise, if we both make it insh'Allah

  • @famigo451

    shukran my brother,

so far no argumentation could convince me:

through music i got to know myself,

through meditation and reading qur'an i got to know

la ila ill Allah, that had always been written in my heart even when i was considering myself an atheist.

are you familiar with people like bach, john coltrane, abdullah ibrahim?

could you call that iddle talk?

    ma'salam

  • @familytreemusic I think Zakir did answer that in one of his talks. When he said that the Qur'an did not actually prohibit it, but there was indications; because the Qur'an spoke of idle tales. Furthermore, a hadith made mention that there are among the prophet's (saw) people who would consider fornication, _, having intoxicants and playing music instruments as legal. Well, this means that the Prophet (saw) has prohibited it. See the video for yourself, it's somewhere here on youtube. Peace

  • if music is haram how come Allah never mention it in the qur'an?

  • @SentientRaven yhh ???????????

  • Arabic music and bellydancing is one of the most beautiful things in their culture but Islam bans them. The fancy richly ornamented clothing of the Middle-East is remembered in our fairy tales but Islam bans it.

So I admit I'm glad some have violated these bans.

  • prophet Mohammed said ''daff'' and that means all type of music is halal !!

because if music was harram then the first forbidden instrument would be the daff ( drum ) !! because its the base of the music !! -.-grow up people islam is not complicated dont say what u dont know !!

and try to listen to listen to some educated people advices -.-

    stop ...stop it !!

DISLIKE BTW nice accent XD hehe just kidding :P
