After the Haiti earthquake, thousands of people were left without sanitation, often camping in tight, compacted and concreted areas where no latrines can be dug. People need toilets from day one, so Oxfam is trialling various solutions like 'peepoo,' and similar bags, as well as other innovative methods. The peepoo bags are biodegradable and after use are taken away for composting.
