Short clip of the Mersey class all weather lifeboat. The Mersey class lifeboat was introduced in 1988 and was the RNLI's first 'fast' carriage lifeboat. It was designed to be launched from a carriage but can also lie afloat or be launched from a slipway. Propellers are protected by partial tunnels and substantial bilge keels. The last Mersey was built in 1993.
I love this class life boat!! I was rescued by one of these when our boat became disabled in very rough seas. The crew were amazing and got us and our boat back safe! I couldn't thank them enough and I carry on supporting the RNLI as much as I can!
