Dumb video but I was bored. I was playing this game recently and wondered what would happen if you go back to Shapeir after you take the caravan to Raseir, so I tried it.
(Keep in mind that the perspective is flipped when you are in the southern half of the desert, so north is down, etc.)

Most of this video is just me running across the desert, so skip to 4:17 if you don't want to watch that.

Shapeir is on the north side of the desert and Raseir is on the south, so after going to the northern border of the desert, go west 400 screens from Raseir to reach Shapeir. When you enter, the caravan scene plays again but Khaveen's scene doesn't, so you're stuck there.
I also tried this in the remake but it doesn't work. In the remake you automatically end up in Raseir's inn sometime after night falls (I think midnight) and you don't have enough time to reach Shapeir before that.

The second glitch begins at 5:45.

The desert is 1,000 screens long, and loops. The looping point is 300 screens west of Shapeir (or 300 screens east of Raseir). However, the looping doesn't work properly.
If you move east past the point where the desert loops, you'll also end up one screen south (and crossing it west will put you one screen north). So if you are on the southeast corner, then go east, you'll be pushed past the southern border of the desert. Going north from here leaves you standing inside the mountain. Then I decided to see what happens if an enemy appears while you're standing up there.

  • Oh my god, he's tapping into the Speed Force! DON'T DO IT

  • In the remake you "CAN" make it to Shapeir but with seconds to spare . the programmers fixed it so you can't reenter the city you get a message that "you have no more business in Shapeir" . after a few seconds you get jumped to the inn in Rasier. You can't sleep anywhere by the tree or water oasis because you also get a message saying you can't sleep here now.

  • @Asalieri She actually doesn't stop buying them from you. She says she doesn't need any more, but she still takes them and gives you the money.

Speaking of mushrooms go to the mushroom ring and keep picking them. The game will eventually glitch and you'll get a ton of random messages.

  • @FFL2and3rocks also, you can sell unlimited mushrooms to the healer if you click the sell button fast enough. (I basically load up until I am at max carry capacity, then sell to hell, since you can only do it once, and then she stops buying them from you)

  • @Asalieri Yeah, the door to the healer's hut also works if your skill isn't high enough for your nose. Never knew about getting the antwerp stuck, though.

  • @FFL2and3rocks You can freeze the Antwerp without having to kill it, and it can get stuck in the cave screen if you move after you taunt it.

  • @FFL2and3rocks ever max your lock picking score by sitting a few minutes just picking your nose with the lockpick? If you start with a high enough score, you can do this.

  • @Asalieri I've seen that before. I've also run across a few other strange things, like a mantray dying when it still had some HP left, and once in a while it wouldn't switch to the next screen when I tried to walk north in the forest, so I could walk around in the air.

Also, if you try to throw a knife at Bruno, he throws one at you and you die. But sometimes if you do this close enough to the town's entrance, you see the hero fall over dead, only to end up in town alive.

  • @FFL2and3rocks they just don't make 'em like this anymore. You should show how easy it is to break QFG1 remake. There's a glitch that enables you to have infinite points to distribute to all your stats.

Or how you can whore your climbing prowess just by continually clicking on the back wall of the town.
