Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers wax figures in a scene from "Top Hat" at the old Movieland Wax Museum in Buena Park, California. It was the greatest museum of its kind. It officially closed its doors Oct. 31, 2005.

  • That isn't the dress in the clip that originally was on the Rogers figure. I recall that Movieland figures often wore costumes donated by the actors or the studios. I used to go in the mid to late 70's. I could spend all day there, and sometimes did.

  • The wigs, costumes, and even wax heads were sometimes replaced on many of the figures throughout the years as the materials aged.

  • i miss that place.

  • I miss it, too. :-(

  • I purchased the Piccolino dress in 2005 along with other costumes from the same era...Very cool actually having a piece of movie history...

  • Me too. The Fred & Ginger wax figures are pretty realistic-ish looking.

  • O god I WISH i GOT TO GO THERE!

  • Your video is great and I've given you 5 stars. Please check out my latest clip of 1930's movie icon cigarette cards when you have time: Ginger Rogers, Heather Angel, Shirley Temple, Clark Gable, Greta Garbo, Joan Crawford, Katharine Hepburn...and lots more.
