was using a windows pc drive that was a FAT32 format, she is out of luck, mac 64bit os wont know what to do with that stuff.

I would do it only because my computer is shit.
I don't care about the only data I don't have stored that's in any way important; my music.
Thanks to the internet I can pretty much get that back pretty easily.
If you'd asked me this a month or two ago you would've saved me $500 in repairs.

Can you restore mozy pc-backed up files to the mac client version then?...I sure hope so for that girls sake LOL!

Mozy, great video. I'm a consultant and nearly everyone i speak to does NOT have a backup. They simply lose all their pictures, documents, etc when their HDD dies and never get them back. Most people aren't aware of the risks involved with keeping their data on one device. Though not as dramatic as smashing a laptop, hard drives have limited life and WILL die if you use them long enough. It's a matter of when, not if. I've used mozy for over two years and am very happy with their service.
