There are a lot of other things that can be done such as creating more jobs and educating the people, but yes, you're right. Population control is a big one. Abortion should be debated, and condoms should be promoted everywhere. I'm surprised that some drug stores don't sell condoms here due to their religious beliefs.

My americans and other nationalities told me . you pilipinos when you are in America your family do very well in life.... but why is the pilipino people in the philippines cannot perform like you does in America... these is puzzle to us Filipino American even our children are performing excellent. of cors some few families dont perform good enough. but what you worked for in America reflect your life most pinoys works like the Americans.

@thedarkknight17 I don't think population control is the solution, it just part of pandemic from the broken governmental policies. Creating jobs should be the priority, Not through systematic subsidies but through free-market solutions. Educating people is not government parts, its part of economic freedom that government should embrace not through State. Abortion and many other issues should be at the hands of small governments, not National. Let alone them decide what's best for them, choices!

Your patching up a patient with band aids when in fact he really is ailing from AIDS. Do you understand how markets work too? You can't supply an enormous amount of goods, when people can't really afford it. Just think for a moment, if population control is being implemented. Let me assure you, the poor will get it, and money will just wasted bcuz of gov't spending!

@88SANMIGGY In the Philippines, YES it is. The masses must learn not to view their children as economic safeguards or prizes, and view them as heirs to their legacy. If you leave your children to a family of 14 people crammed into one shanty, sharing the little food and income that would have comfortably supported a family one third its size, you will give them very little chance of moving on upwards in life. If you learn to control and have only 2 kids, the result will be the opposite.
