@chiquidean i am venezuelan.. lived here all my life. i'm 20 years old. not rich at all. i'm a college student and i can tell you that the reason why chavez has stayed so long in the government is because of the ignorance and poverty here, since he has the charisma to convince all this ignorant people. it pisses me off that people think he has reduced poverty and unemployment.. it is bs.. and the violence is out of control.. every day a bunch of people die from robberies and kidnaping

Chavez survives because he gives people who never worked for money all kinds of things they never had before and they don't have to do anything...they sit on their lazy asses! Of course they love him, wouldn't you? Coups funded by the US??? No!!! The US forced the coup, politically, to allow Chavez to return to his position as President. Where do you get your information from?

@chiquidean Alomst as many who support Chavez as those who opose him hin other words? Except Chavez keeps winning elections (acording to international standards democratic elections) doesn't he? Hasn't he won at lest 6 such elections now? Reduced poverty? Decreased unemployment? Survived two military cuops directed against him? Werent many of thes groups who were behind the coup funded by the us?

You're wrong on many counts there. I lived in Venezuela for one year, and I met as many people that hate the West as those who do not.  Chavez is a demagogue, and I can see that you must be one of the brainwashed university kids or a pobre, por lo que usted dice con respeto al chiflado Chavez. Venezuela es un pais muy muy mal educado! You can have it. I was a tourist from 2002 to 2003 and the best part of Venezuela for me was leaving it!
