"Pacata"
Music by Arthur Verocai

I had to look up this unfamiliar word. According to the dictionary a "Pacato" is a "serene or tranquil person". Since the name of the piece is the feminine "Pacata", you can either think of it as a 'serene woman' or simply as a serene or tranquil piece of music ("musica" being a feminine noun). Ok, enough with the language lesson...

This is my first video with a new recording concept. Due to my recent YT audio woes, I searched around for some recommendations on how to improve my audio.
What I've done is the following:

--eliminated the SM-57 altogether
--record mono on the AT-3035 to audacity
--split the audacity "stereo" track and remove the empty bottom track
--duplicate the "left" track and pan the duped track to the right
--offset the right track by 0.02 (2 one-hundredths of a second) for a nice stereo effect (Watch in HIGH QUALITY for stereo).

As always, I'd like to thank Arthur Verocai for the opportunity to study and present his music. Muito Obrigado, Arthur!!

  • Your rendition of this is truly inspiring. I'm not sure if it is the same, but there is a theme in "Howl's Moving Castle" that this composition is very similar to. Your virtuosity is worthy of all the praise that I have witnessed on your channel and in this thread.

  • @TYRESIUSI714

Thanks. I saw that movie and it does have a beautiful theme. (I'm not heavily into anime but I'm a Jean Simmons completist so that's the main reason I recorded and watched it.). I think Sungha did a version on his channel. I thought of working on it at the time and now i want to listen to it again to compare to Pacata.

    cheers.
