The Indiana Department of Transportation and State Police studied traffic patterns and determined lowering and increasing the speed limit on a stretch of I-69 northeast of Indianapolis will make travel a lot safer.
Going 55 on the highways around Indianapolis is downright scary. The traffic always flows at around 65-75 MPH regardless. I've driven all over the country and the Indianapolis area definitely has the lowest speed limits even though their roads are wider, straighter, and nicer than most. Even the little side street I lived off of in California had a 55 MPH speed limit. GIVE US A BREAK!!

"What we've determined is that we make more money with a lower speed limit since less people will comply" is what that officer really means.
