  • @shevegen police was with them.

  • As a Infomation Science graduate student, I find this video sad.

  • Some believe the change in focus of the Basij from its original mission of fighting to defend Iran in the Iran-Iraq War to its current internal security concerns has led to a loss in its prestige and morale.

  • wear green, not black. like a green bandana or a green peice of string or a green ribbon tied around your hand. That is the way I have been showing my support since monday.

  • I echo annkreed's comments below. And I wish I knew what I could do, to show solidarity with and support for the Iranian protesters (I live in Seattle, so I don't know if wearing black will be noticed). Stay strong, Iranians!

  • Because the attack was a response to the protests which are being held by a student led population. The militia is from what I understand under the control of the IRG which is essentially Komenei's wing of the military.

I may have that wrong, but that is what I've gotten loosly off of Fark.

  • Where do the militia get their firearms? The iranian government should address this question, and why the police did not protect students from these type of attacks.

  • This is scary. But I think necessary! I fully support the protesters!
