Why are there so many blacks going to watch? I thought the 70's was still very segregated in the US?

the special effect wasnt wat made this movie scary, although it did play its part, it was more about religious beliefs and so on, jus like psycho made ppl scared to shower and jaws made no one want to go into the water (i still dont)

Well back in the day people weren't use to stuff like this so I can understand why people were freakng out. Now days we are all freaking use to it lol.

man you should place yourself at that time , no previous movies like that one, no special effects like today and no internet, man that IS scary, today its not

Paranormal Activity was a bullshit hyped up movie. Had the commercials not told everyone it was "the scariest movie ever", then everyone would've just laughed at it. The Exorcist still holds up its horror after all these years, and it will hold up for many years to come. Paranormal Activity will flop in DVD sales, and be forgotten about in two years.

Despite your detailed comparison of the two p.a is still scary.
