hey man thanks for posting this,i am putting together a film of all the clips of the QE1 because my dad worked on the ship from the age of 20-22 as a engineer.

he said he had the time of his life he is now 70 and would love to see all the footage of the ship.

@jonathonyeoman13 well ......i have heard as to how the fire started but iam not sure if it is true .....but again for sure it was a job done by an arsonist ....and from what i was told about it in the pub ......this bad arse dude did it with petrol and matches ....but i think they might be telling fibs ....so i dont really know what the truth is..... ps the other thing is maybe the mafia did it the greek mafia ......

@ferrisbueller43 it has never been in a chinese airport it is in the water i post something from an article i read from a guy from the QE Historical society there is about 90ft of her double bottom. I Read somewhere that there is a lot about her in honk kong and that there is more to the keel then that.

@TitanicMatthew It was a workman cutting a peice of metal below decks, the idoits didn't run a clean workplace, so a pile of junk caught fire, due to the sparks. As the fire suppression system had been taken offline whilst the maintainence was carried out, there was nothing to stop the blaze :(

@cbarsonfire sprinklers would not of helped here. Several fires were set on purpose by the owner to ensure that it sank. It was purchased for 3.5 million and insured for 8 million. An easy profit.
