For six decades it sat perched atop the mountain, the king of color film. But time has almost run out for Kodachrome. The last photo lab in the United States that still develops it is in Parsons, Kansas. Dwayne's Photo will process their last roll on December 30. Post-Dispatch photographer Robert Cohen found his last roll of Kodachrome 200 and took it to the Missouri State Fair in Sedalia.
I have a roll of kodachrome KM 135-20. It's more than likely from the 1970's or before, taken on an Argus C3 Matchmatic. It may be only 20 exposures at most, but I just found it today. I'm desperate to get it developed, who knows what past pictures are left on this little roll. I need to get it developed, or go through the supposedly "impossible" developing process. HELP.

Really great video! Expertly done, and wonderful pictures. I'm 15 years old and an aspiring photographer, and I was never granted the honor to shoot a roll of Kodachrome. It really saddens me. We can only hope someone will make a similar film sometime in the future. I would've done the exact same thing you did and drove to Dwaynes.

the colours of those photos are so vibrant! I believe it should be Kodak's best interest to produce another film or digital camera that can give the same colours/effect as Kodachrome, if they can - I'll buy it!

Great video. It's sad that Kodachrome is coming to an end.
On NPR I heard photojournalist Steve McCurry talk about shooting the official last roll of Kodachrome to come off Kodak's production line. I think his said the pictures will be part of a National Geographic piece in the near future.
