This series of 12 English and 15 Arabic video clips, 10 minutes each on the youtube.com and www.copticorthodox-divinejustice.com discusses how to understand Darwins Evolutionary theory and the story of Adam, Eve and Original Sin, where there is no contradiction except for Creationists (Bible literalists) and Atheists who deny God in the name of science!!! The latter is a non-scientific stance that lacks the basic definition of science, i.e. talking only about matter, space and time which could be studied in a lab, but not metaphysics, which is the realm of Faith.

5- Exact History gives, at least, specific Time, Place and Person. The Bible is not a book of science or scientific history, as we understand it. Only God is Absolute. The Bible was not meant to be scientifically exact, but a spiritually correct revelation on Salvation. Moses lived 700-800 years after Abraham; could he have written an exact record of Abrahams dialogue with the angels?

Science has not confirmed any answer (and never will, not to the extent of strict 'proof') so why do you choose to pluck just two alternatives and ignore the rest? This is especially outrageous as you are using parts of science to justify your assertions. In other words, I am not disputing the two alternatives you state so much as disputing that those are the only two; you simply do not have the knowledge to make that claim (noone does).

Thank you for this last confirmation. Until science can give us confirmed answers to what existed before the Big Bang (TBB) and HOW TBB occured and HOW LIFE appeared (from Inorganic to Organic matter), scientifically speaking, the 2 possibilities you mention (what you name as my "dichotomy", i.e. my explanation), remain very true and valid; hence NOT false. All i wanted to say is that you made a claim about the origin of the universe appealing to our present scientific understanding to limit the possibilities to just two. I presented just one (of several) facets of our present understanding that show the dichotomy you presented is a false one.

The Flood: there were many. Noah survived a massive one. They want to teach God's care for His people & creatures & demonise their enemies. How else do you imagine literature 3000 years ago? They were teaching moral lessons not scientific history, nor science (Creation, Adam & Eve story) .

All the harshness of the OT describes the human element of sociopolitical life then. The best balance & light to discern the human from divine elements in OT is Christ. Christ's deeds, life and words interpret and help discern both elements separately. What does not fit with Christ's teaching (in OT) is human and what fits with Him is divine. When OT prophets (leaders) speak and order war, they had to write it as:God said! God in Christ never condoned violence only love, even to enemies

......I list these because I wonder what kind of lesson we are expected to draw from them? What positive message am I supposed to draw about God or one of his greatest prophets?

It seems to me you can only pick and choose which of these fables to choose to use for good ends (as people have done and I admit their are some good stories put to good ends) if you have a preconceived idea of right and wrong already.

....global flood where God himself destroys all life on earth (statistically speaking and in terms of the awful suffering of drowning to death...after watching your children drown first ofc - i realise a tiny fraction of the animals and one family survive) because he is irked by peoples sinful ways (even though he knows in advance it will not work).
