Early morning flight from Norwood (KOWD) to Martha's Vineyard (KMVY) Oct.23, 2011

It took a while to get going because the plane had some frost on it. I also used heat during the flight. When I checked in at Martha's Vineyard I was told to use runway 24 even though runway 06 was in use. I questioned runway 24 but he meant 06. I thought runway 06 had a PAPI so I delayed my turn from base to final waiting to see the PAPI lights, but there was no PAPI so I turned too late. I was running a little late so I didn't stop at Martha's Vineyard which had taxiway closures anyway. It was supposed to be sunny but there were clouds closing in at the altitude I was flying -- 4,500 but they were a little off in the distance.

Nice flight!! I went over to KPYM that day for lunch at Plane Jane's with a friend. You're right about the forecast. I looked out the window in the morning and said "This isn't right"!! Hahaha!! I flew later in the day so I was stuck under the overcast. Had to do 3,500' out and 3,000' back. But still an ok day for a short trip.
