While possible I find it more probable that the security is simply a part of the rising police state.
We only need to take a look around to see the state clamping down on dissent in every corner of the planet
China for example killed 60 million or so under Mao and here we are celebrating his birthday, flying Chinese flags and honoring him as some great social leader
Mao loved Gun control as much as Stalin and Hitler. Ever wonder why they want us unarmed as well? Easier to kick in your door?
