A National Wildlife Humane Society Presentation.
Touch The Jungle is a unique rainforest preservation project in Ecuador, South America. Villagers host eco-tours for sustainable income, while protecting their allotted forest from destructive development.
NWHS is a Participating Supporter of Touch The Jungle Program.
Many thanks to Kevin MacLeod for use of his song Deliberate Thought.

  • Eco tourism is a wonderful way of encouraging the protection of the environment by providing an income for the people. This in turn gives them a reason to protect the rainforest etc. Protection and profit hand in hand..The perfect solution.....Mel

  • Indeed Mel.

We would like to add that this program is non-intrusive eco-tourism. The rainforests involved are left pristine and unchanged in the Touch The Jungle programs.

There are 2 areas now involved for a total of appx. 50,000 acres of equatorial jungle. Playa De Oro on the Santiago River, and Intag which is cloud forest (high mountain). If anyone likes this concept, pass it on or sign up to visit, it's quite inexpensive and an awesome life experience.

  • I want to go there!

  • After recovering from a flood disaster in February, Playa de Oro will be ready for an eco-tour in August. Feel free to visit the web links to see how to book in on one of these ecologically non-intrusive 10 day tours.

The villagers treat visitors to a very positive lifetime experience, at an inexpensive cost.

  • This is a real jungle rainforest that people can go visit the villages involved, and stay 10-15 days. It is quite inexpensive for the adventure of a lifetime.

The villagers host the visitors and take excellent care of them. The fee goes to the villagers 100%, so they can protect their allotment (25,000 acres) and need no reliance on miners or timber companies.

See the websites on how to get there, or donate to assist real rainforest.
