Jockey- It's My Life

My dream of becoming a jockey! I want this more than anything in the world! This shows just some of the hard work that I've put in to making it this far.
Racing filmed at Gulfstream Park, spring break 2008. I believe the horse in the winner's circle at the end is Silver Knockers.
Footage of me hotwalking and cleaning stalls at Glenwood Training Center, practicing exercise riding on Chance, and learning how to balance and ride a jock saddle with Belle. The pic at the end is the first time I ever sat in a jockey saddle, I was practicing my winner's circle pose, lol. A good friend of mine gave me that saddle and I can't tank her enough for her generosity, support, and answering my endless stream of questions about racing and being a jockey!

u need to lengthn those sturips, and get your balance first, get fitter, then shorten them.

this video is over 3 years old. that was my 1st time in racing saddle, on my 14.2 morgan show horse. i didn't ask for your critique, so the hands comment is just you belittling somebody trying to better themselves. just for the info i am now exercise riding full time, so yes i have gotten better. not that i dont have anything left to learn. im tired of people like you leaving ignorant remarks on my videos. from now on i will set it up where nobdody can leave their comments.

a good idea to email to someone like Lovato that runs jockey school. He has tons of videos here you can watch and learn your rein handling, position and whip handling. You are up very high off the saddle, which is a problem. You need to learn to take a cross. Ask him if you are the right size for being a race jockey and what exercises and practice to do.

this video is pretty old. ive gotten WAAAY better since then. that was my first time in a racing saddle, and between that and the fact that the horse i was riding is only 14.1 hands is why i was so high off the saddle. i know how to take a cross, if you want proof check out my updated video.

good grief, READ THE DESCRIPTION! i was just getting used to the racing saddle, i had never been in one before. i wanted to test it out and see what it was like. you have no idea how much work i have put into this over the months since this video was shot. i'm a freelance exercise rider now! and hopefully will be racing next year

I think you also need to stop being so cocky & full of yourself. Interesting that you call youself a jockey. Dont get me wrong, I'm not calling you a liar. But its beyond wrong of you to tell people they should stop pursuing their dreams. Who are you to tell them that. And what exactly do you know of my racing knowledge?! What I try doing is start at ur normal sturrip length and get shorter and shorter...shorten them twice a week :)

This chic actually has a dream, which is probably more than you have, if all you have time to do is go around telling people how to do things, and what needs to be done.
