@DoctorMiracleTDRPS Bravia is not bad it's just that Sony's website sucks. Samsung and Sony used to have a joint venture in a company called s-lcd but at the tail end of last year Samsung bought Sony's stake at a bargain 938 million from 1.08 trillion. Anything but Vizio is fine with me, whatever floats your boat. I just hate Vizio they are just shit products and low tech.

All Hail SAMSUNG THE HDTV GOD I have an LN52A550P3FXZA and it still has just as fantastic picture quality as the day I brought it home. It is a 60Hz TV. 30'000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio, pretty damn good for it's time. 5ms response time kick ass.

Why the Sammy hate Marc? Which models have you owned and what was wrong with them? I've calibrated 2 of their plasmas, a 58C7000 and now a 51D450, and am quite surprised at how well they perform. In fact I would say they perform a bit better than Panasonic overall, which is kind of what D-Nice and Kevin Miller found too. I know you are a connoisseur of picture quality so it surprises me why you would think Samsung is shit. Did you have a bad experience with one in the past?

I agree about the 8500. I'll take better picture quality over a thinner tv any day. So what he's saying is Samsung is more focused on the look of the tv itself than the picture quality. Actually, according to his own words picture quality is 3rd on the list. That's like a speaker manufacturer saying sound quality isn't their number 1 priority.
