  • It just shows you, the studio new its business. Everything was so professonal, with the best in the business working on a project.

  • @ciroalb3 and apple2dance04: Part of the swingy sound is because an uncredited (for contractual reasons) Jimmy Dorsey and his Orchestra was sweetening the RKO orchestra. Dorsey bandmember Fud Livingston did the arrangements.

  • Gershwin died in July '37 after completing the film. Wikipedia says he wrote the orchestral underscore for the film, so I guess that's that, but I suspect a studio arranger did the first part before it becomes jazzier.

  • @ciroalb3 seems more like the 40s or the 50s in style

  • I've seen this many times, but you really have to admire the arrangement. wonder if it was Gershwin's or the Studio's?

  • They're just so much fun!

  • In love with Fred's goofiness and Ginger's dress. These two are so adorable!
