NOAA RX on Yaesu VX-8 HT while paddling down the Batenkill River, Eastern NY

Receiving NOAA weather forecast for NY/VT while Tubing down the river. Made several QSOs on the Mount Equinox repeater in VT as well! Watch the MIC membrane if you take the VX-8 in the water, water fills the hole easilly and no one on can hear what you're saying!

What is the model # of the antenna?

It's a Diamond SRH-940 SMA Duck. It's marginally better than the stock, probably because ducks (su-- I mean quack) lol! Thwarts flies while hiking MUCH better than the stock duck, as it's longer and far more flexible! Don't buy this, thinking you'll get HF RX, it stinks RXing down there, ho hum!
