i play guitar too, and a while a go i picked up the bass of the bass guitar player in my band, and thought it was pretty easy, i think it looks a lot like a guitar, except for the right hand. the neck of a bass guitar works the same as a normal guitar, so if he knew the chord progressions and he probably heard the bass line a thousand times, its not that hard to play it;)

and about the vid if i had to choose between listening to james on drums and lars on guitar+vocal the choice wouldnt be hard
