  • 27 MHz is the main frequency used by recreational boaters and the volunteer services because of its low cost (approximately $200) and its suitability for use in enclosed waters

  • what is 27 Mhz is that Australlian CB for boats or is it a Marine service whats the difference and what is it used for?

  • ya u can its fun!

  • Yes you can talk to any one whom has a radio that is capable to receive your broadcast this is to say a VHF station can receive VHF broad cast A 27 mh can only receive traffic send by a 27 mh station The VHF system

has a emergency channel 16 used for May day and very brief communications and then you be ask to switch over to 67 the working channel

In most countries you are required to obtain a license to use the VHF system .if you want to talk to someone you need there call sign

  • If i get a radio for my boat can i talk to people

  • THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!!!

  • VHF is the most popular for boating. Check local harbors as to which channels to use for what activity. Channel 16 is hailing and answering channel.
