Nike and Foot Locker paired four footballers, with four artists in four different cities across Europe. The artists took the athletes off-pitch personality, style and enthusiasm and turned it into a unique Nike Air Max 90 portrait. The artwork inspires consumers to create their own, using an amazing piece of creative technology.
F.C. Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets collaborated with Barcelona artist Max-o-matic to share his passion for basketball, the beach, his family and of course, Nike Air Max 90.
Busquets played his first top flight match in the fall of 2008 and soon became a regular name in Barcelonas starting eleven. In May 2009, less than a year after his debut, he starred in the Champions League final against Manchester United.
The footballer met Barcelona artist Max-o-matic, who moved from Buenos Aires to Barcelona in 2002 and immediately fell in love with the local F.C. His work always has a nostalgic feel to it and is strongly influenced by the Dada movement and the infamous Cabaret Voltaire. He likes to describe his style as a complete control of chaos.
The story behind his portrait of Sergio Busquets is that of the modest man behind a football legend in the making - because despite the fame that comes with football, Busquets is faithful to his roots, family, friends and history.
The exclusive Nike Air Max 90 colourway will be available at 500 Foot Locker stores across Europe from November 30. Visit HYPERLINK "http://www.Footlocker.eu" www.Footlocker.eu for more information.
