  • an excellent collage of sound and text. harmonics are clearly the perfect descriptive device for evoking the idea of clouds!

  • (Continued) I felt similarly about Passing Clouds after the first one or two listenings and then a certain beauty abt it started to emerge after that. like discovering something that was always there but somehow just eluded me until now.... and it's getting better with every listening! For me, thats a first for a "modern" (if the classification from this musical caveman is even correct!) piece! Kudos, Rob! Jerry.

  • Hi Rob, Ive just finished digesting my Barrios, Sor and Pernambuco exam pieces and couldnt find more space until then Now that I've had the time to listen carefully, I must say first off that Ive always found with the more modern pieces that I somehow cant seem to enjoy them, no matter how much immersion I undertake. (Continued)

  • Gwen and I were both amazed at "Passing Clouds" -- the composition as well as the the playing are brilliant! Well done! It is very useful to show the translated words at the beginning of each part/section. They help describe the context and meaning of the music, which I must say you really did justice to.

Thanks for alerting us, and keep the creative juices flowing!

  • This piece reminds me of a beautiful

impressionist painting - full of the

colors and textures of the natural world. I have never heard so many

different sounds in a single piece,

applied with a multitude of techniques.

Yet it all blends together in a coherent

    whole. Bravo!

  • Hello

To add to my previous comment... You really need to listen to this with a good set of headsets in order to appreciate the musicality and the harmonics. Plus, just as a fine malt whiskey gets better with age, I would wager a bet you will appreciate this more each time you listen!

  • Thanks Robert for sending me this link. Nice composition set to a lovely poem. I also checked out your students video and am very impressed with the quality of performance. What a legacy for Singaporeans. See you in the new year.

  • Robert, I really enjoyed this! Thanks. I'll pass this on.

  • Dear Robert

This is a lovely composition and I sincerely thank you for posting it on you tube. Very colorful, expressive, and something new and departing from the run of the mill classical music pieces. Please keep it up!

  • Well worth the wait! The skill and feelings are there for you all to see, I am so lucky to have found Robert and the skill he demonstrates here only helps to inspire me. Well done comments pt 2 to come
