Just to correct you here, there is no such thing as "Anglo-Catholic". This mistaken term comes from the so-called Branch Theory posited in the 19th century by Anglican theologian William Palmer. It was never accepted by the Church or the Eastern Orthodox churches.

The three main divisions of Christianity are the Catholic Church (1) the Eastern Orthodox churches (15-20)

    and protestantism (30,000).

You are protestant thanks to the work of Thomas Cranmer, founder of Anglicanism

  • If G-D is G-D he has no limitations other than those of which He advises us.

Virgin Birth is a miracle -like the miracle of creation. One can say G-D did not provide for a Virgin birth but one cannot say that Virgin birth is impossible [for G-D].

  • @MenechemShaul Scripture says she was full of grace -full as in complete.

EGAD you think yourself the only Jew? I might be Jewish.

"Your" people then were fragmented -those who believed in resurrection & those who didn't; some were priestly oriented & some were scholarship oriented -of which of "your" people do you refer?

Lastly the Septuagint was written in Greek & we know exactly how & why words were translated –the mother of messiah is to be a young virgin girl, not just a young girl.

  • @Hkepfer I could care less what a church says! There is historical evidence to disprove this! I go by what Scripture teaches, not man! You need to stop twisting Scripture and accept what it says! This discussion is over! Mary would not have remained a virgin as this is not what Scripture teaches nor was the cultural norm of my people in that day, or today!

  • @MenechemShaul The Greek Orthodox inclusive of the Maronites have always held that these brothers and sisters were either brother cousins (as in Latin America to this day) or half brothers from Joseph's first marriage. Mary as "full of grace" means full -no room for anything else, so she was before during and after Christ's birth, a Virgin.

  • @Hkepfer Explain Matthew 13:55-57, as well as the fact that Paul makes mention of James being the brother of Jesus! 'Isn't this the carpenter's son? Isn't His mother called Mary, and His brothers James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas?' (Matthew 13:55 HCSB). All Scripture teaches is that Joseph did not touch Mary until Yeshua was born! You idol worshipers need to stop twisting Scripture! 'And His sisters, aren't they all with us? So where does He get all these things?"' (Matthew 13:56 HCSB).

  • @MenechemShaul No Jesus was Mary's only son; to say otherwise is to deny her perpetual virginity which would deny her distinction / dignity of being found the only woman full of grace.

  • @kennyinliverpool or you could be celibate.

  • I was a Catholic but moved into Anglicanism whilst studying theology at university. I am now an Anglo-Catholic - the liturgy is better, the priest faces east and we kneel at the communion prayer. I want to become a monk in the Anglican communion but am gay so feel it better that I don't - so am becoming a social worker....!

  • Jude the Brother of Jesus, Mary's Son!
