Shayrah is Neat People: http://www.youtube.com/user/Shayrah

This video here is just some lessons coming out of the recent dramas coming out of the HORRIFYING TWITTER STALKING PLOT, RAPEGATE I, II, and III, and MEANINGLESS DESECRATION I & II. The foundational rule I forgot to state is "don't let someone hijack your emotions as a way of subverting your ability to reason."

Let the pearl-clutching and collapsing to the fainting couches begin.

  • Sorry to be critical, but I think that the core of a neutron star would be pretty pure neutronium.

One can have elementally pure substances - the chemical elements.

Mercury in a thermometer won't have bits of iron floating in it, will it?

But since 'good' and 'evil' aren't substances but abstract concepts, I guess you're analogy holds. They aren't absolutes. They are relative concepts that have no intrinsic value and aren't descrete like atoms but continuous.

  • @Teloculos Neutrons are composed of quarks, and under the pressures at the core may break down from neutrons, albeit briefly.

Mercury in a thermometer almost invariably has trace amounts of oxygen dissolved in it (and is then contaminated with the compound mercuric oxide as the mercury and oxygen react, if I recall correctly).

Yes, you can have elementally pure substances if you are talking about say, a molecule of elemental Hydrogen, but when you have more, that's difficult. (cont)

  • @stealthbadger I'm not nitpicking about my terms, so much as illustrating the point made earlier, and underscored by the second law of thermodynamics. To put it poetically: nature not only abhors a vacuum, it abhors order - and our word for this principle is "entropy."

It takes far more energy to create and maintain an ordered area within the system than the ordered area can contain - this is why we have trash piles and waste heat and pollution.

Don't mind me, just in a mood. :D

  • @stealthbadger Ok I see your point. It's like the old kilo weight losing, um, weight, because molecules were evaporating into the vacuum it was kept in for "protection".

Thinking about you analogy and alloys vs pure metals, alloys tend to be stronger because the impurities give the primary substance something to grip. Mixing substances yeilds more interesting things than just looking at the elements in isolation too.

I don't think there's any way a lifeform or idea can be pure anything though.

  • @Teloculos Exactly! ^.^

  • Critical thinking? Meh. That only gets in the way of arriving at the preconceived conclusions I prefer.

  • But if I think critically, I won't be able to spout my filth at people for no good reason.

  • i didnt understand some of the words but i understood by context. so basically words or ideas change, dont believe others people BS about crap, and the last one is some yin and yang shid.

  • @The31YearOldVirgin I talked about that larger point last year, so no, I'm not missing it at all (but it's very apparent that Joniversity and Thuderf00t didn't get the memo - you may want to let them know).

Short form: if you are just drawing pictures that piss off Muslims and also seem obscene to Western eyes, then the conclusion that people will draw is that you hate Muslims. If you draw respectful pictures and STILL piss of Muslims, that will start a conversation.

    It's very simple.

  • @stealthbadger

My objection to your video is that you seem to believe that DMD2 won’t produce any significant results because it won’t change any Muslim’s opinion. I think you’re missing the larger picture here: the point is not just showing Muslims that their laws don’t apply to us; the main goal is to draw attention to the problem of Islamic intolerance of criticism, so that more pondered debate can follow. Outrage attracts attention (audience); a larger audience will expand and deepen debate.

  • @shandcunt It's not over-complicating it. Do you disagree with the video, or do you think what I say in it is valid, but applies to me? It's a serious question. If you just got your feelings hurt and just disapprove of it for emotional reasons, that's OK too (but don't pretend it's an argument).

Oh, and it's not an outrage - it's just contradictory. I asked for clarification and (seemed) to act like I was asking for your passport and birth certificate. It's a very simple question.

  • @stealthbadger Way to over complicate shit, I stand by my original comment if you didn't understand it thats fine, if it wasn't a perfectly coherent sentence then forgive me for not caring about the logical consistency of a youtube comment....outrages i know
