Excellent video! I loved the music. What's the name of it?
I'm currently an Ubuntu user, but I have gotten an Arch box running with gnome and gdm. Like miscible said, more arch videos! Keep up the superb work man!

So the whole installation, while it looked a bit fiddly, only took 10 minutes? That's impressive, Ubuntu/Mint can take up to 30... I might give it a go in a VM, I'm getting bored of Ubuntu and it's painfully heavy desktop environment!

I have no idea what i just watched... Still like it though.

i like the fact that the background music is not a shitty trance happy hardcore shitty music that distracts the viewer from the actual video

what did you click/typed in the selection on minute 3:06? I am kind of stuck there. Thank you?

You gotta be a rocket scientist to install this. Looks a lot more complicated than Ubuntu or Suse... But complicated means more options, more control whereas simple means less.

@goochbuntu I use Slack, but I have been debating switching to Arch. Also, I am not trying to start a "flame war". I was hoping to get some insight about what users think on the different structures and why Arch is more stable as opposed to repliers just stating "it's more stable." I have only had driver compatibility issues with Slack but no other bugs, yet people complain about it being buggy. I'm simply getting insight for personal use; I'm not attempting to get a rise out of the community.

@shadzimuratovic the awesome thing about arch is it teaches you how to use it. so by the time you have your system set you know how to do it once its installed then you have a rolling distro also you have pacman and aur :P which gives you so much more than what ubuntu can give you and mint
When i try to do the sudo pacman -Synu, it asks for a password, is that for root or my account?

@J1T1Z Your account, sudo stands for super do, which means it makes your user acts as the root user.

if you dont mind me asking, what is the beat in the background's name? It is awesome. I love music with no lyrics with a spacey, electronic, smooth tone to it, if you understand what I mean.

awesome vid i am atching it several times as i am installing arch
can you also tell me where did you get the wallpaper? and for older system do you recomend xfce rarther than gnome?

@xMandalorex The WALLPAPER.. bit DOT ly/dqCL0u
and about GNOME i think it's doing well on older systems but XFCE is one of the three major Linux desktop environments that is the least resource-hungry, which makes it an excellent choice for older computers. While XFCE uses less resources, it is still a full-fledged desktop environment which offers a great deal to the user. In appearance, XFCE in its default is more similar to GNOME than to KDE because it has top and bottom menu bars like GNOME.
